Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi dan menganalisis pemanfaatan cerita klasik Hindu, khususnya Itihasa dan Purana, dalam meningkatkan pemahaman etika siswa sekolah dasar. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode studi kasus di SD Negeri 4 Melaya. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa integrasi cerita klasik Hindu dalam pembelajaran etika memberikan dampak positif yang signifikan terhadap pemahaman, sikap, dan perilaku etis siswa. Nilai-nilai seperti satya (kejujuran), dharma (kewajiban moral), ahimsa (tidak menyakiti), dan seva (pengabdian) berhasil diinternalisasi melalui pendekatan naratif, reflektif, dan partisipatif. Selain memperkuat identitas budaya dan spiritual siswa, metode ini juga membuktikan efektivitasnya dalam menjembatani antara pengetahuan moral dan tindakan nyata. Temuan ini memperkuat urgensi pendidikan karakter berbasis budaya lokal sebagai fondasi pembentukan etika generasi muda
